Evaluating a Philanthropic Fund's Activity

Description

  • Mahalach is a philanthropic foundation established by Iris and Gal Shalgi (2015) in order to lead social organizations to develop their own income sources.

The Challenge

  • The Foundation's management was interested in assessing the impact of the Fund's activities and in building tools that will improve the process of selecting associations and answer the needs of each one.
  • My involvement:
  •  With the fund's management, I built indices that scored and evaluated the suitability of the associations that wish to be included in the program. In addition, I built a questionnaire that examined the effectiveness of the program’s support. All tools were built with automated analysis.

The social impact

  • Continuous learning from the feedback questionnaires is a tool for improving the program.
  • The responses enable the fund to be more efficient and professional in accompanying the organizations to build their own income and increase their social impact

The economic impact

  • Use of data: Based on the evidence gathered by the program, the fund's management board, conducted discussions to examine the extent to which the fund's goals are achieved.
  • Impact to Mahalach Fund: A culture of continuous learning for the accuracy and efficiency of the Fund's work model.
  • Shortening and streamlining the process of selection of associations. Transparency towards donors and non-profit organizations.
